NAR is dying to a slow painful death.

Quick note: If you still feel kinda lost with what to do about the NAR settlement and having a hard time planning how to change your approach, schedule a call with our partner here.

Ah yes, probably trying to break up the lobbying of NAR and disrupt personal property rights and civil liberties.
The funny thing is that this is an anti-trust lawsuit against setting commission rates and yet the DOJ wants to set our commission rates…
NAR has been the subject of scrutiny for decades from multiple administrations of both parties because it's a powerful lobby, has a bunch of cash, and has not been especially responsive to government inquiries and challenges, at least according to government expectations anyway.
And they have had a lockdown on the MLS process and access that is anti-competetive to some. The RE commission process is confusing and counter intuitive to many which leaves it open to criticism and misunderstanding.
I don’t even know where these A-holes in the DOJ get their misinformation that we’ve concluded to fix or inflate commissions. Enough already… we need an attorney with some balls to stand up to these frivolous suits!
And the “Million Dollar Listing”, “Selling Sunset”, “Selling New York” etc. Those TV shows make us look bad. It’s all mansions and chauffeurs.
That’s isn’t even the top 1% of Realtors, maybe the top .01%. Everyone just thinks all you have to do is get a license and the money just starts flowing in to your mailbox.
Housing is the #1 target of the Fed to get inflation under control, Powell has said it many times. Since the Fed can only manipulate the rates, the Gov. needs to help put pressure on before elections to get the Fed to cut rates. (supposedly they can't ask the Fed to do that directly.)
So what can the administration do? Go after whomever they need to in order to get prices to come down...
Blaming Realtors, and now lenders with "junk fees" and whatever else they want to come up with. Then sending out the DOJ to "show" that they are "looking out for your best interest".
The administration will do ANYTHING it can to stay in power (no matter who is in power). Sadly, we are the targets now. If you don't think these are all intertwined, you would be gravely mistaken.
I’ve always said this is something bigger than what most of us think. Specially when you see all the media making us look like evil con men overcharging the public.
At the end of the day someone in top wants to change us and get if rid of us. They have to show the public we are the bad ones so they don’t look like the bad ones.
They have to sell it as if the public will win because of this change — but in true reality the ones that will hurt from all this is the buyers, sellers, and Realtors.
At the end, it will just benefit those up above that are pushing for this change.
