NAR x DOJ + Weekly Market Report

"The government is here to help"

"Waiting for mortgage rates to go down" has officially claimed the top spot as the reason homeowners aren't out there house hunting. It's a first for our survey, pushing aside the usual champ, "Waiting for a life stage change."

It’s possible that Younger Boomers are moving in with family or consolidating households with family (providing funds to the younger generation who then are able to purchase larger homes).

The FTC sues Opendoor and settles for $62m and says:

“In reality, most people who sold to Opendoor made thousands of dollars less than they would have made selling their homes using the traditional process (Realtors) and many paid more in costs than what sellers typically pay”

So how again are Realtors the bad guys?

Maybe this is an opportunity for NAR to change their mind on settling in the first place? I know, wishful thinking. But they should, and they should get better attorneys and fight.

None of this helps consumers or the industry. This stinks of an orchestrated takeover by Blackrock, State Street, and Vanguard.
